Workspace

Managing and organizing the work environment in Visual Chart 6: creation, page structure, migration from previous versions, and saving options.

If you have installed Visual Chart 6 on a computer and you have the settings (workspaces, tables, indicators ...) of a previous version of the program (Visual Chart 4 or Visual Chart 5), click on the File menu and click Open from Visual Chart 4/5 to import them.

In the same way as in previous versions of the program, you can do it by clicking on the File menu, then selecting "Workspace" and finally "New workspace". Finally, you must assign a name. By default, 3 work pages are shown to open windows in any of them. You can create more pages depending on your needs.

Right-click on the bar where the name of the different work pages is displayed and, in the contextual menu that is displayed, choose the option "Insert page".

The workspace is saved in the Visual Chart cloud. You can proceed in two ways: - From the Save workspace command located in the quick access bar. - From the File menu -> Workspaces -> Save workspace.

Visual Chart automatically makes the backup copies in the cloud, so it is not necessary (and not possible) to do them on the user's computer.

Settings and markets

Customization of markets and creation of stock lists tailored to your analysis and investment preferences.

The steps are the following: 1. Access the File menu. 2. Click on the New option. 3. Click on New Table. 4. Enter the symbols to customize the table. 5. Access the File menu and click on the Save as option. Give the table a name.

In Visual Chart 6 the maintenance of the markets is automatic. However, you can check the list of markets and their configuration in the Chart menu -> Data -> Configure market.

Programming and strategies

Development of systems, indicators and studies in .NET and on the visual design platform, including the use of the optimizer and the explorer.

To calculate an explorer, go to the "Open" menu and click on the "List of values" button. In the start window select the table you want to explore, then press the right mouse button and choose the option "Calculate Explorer". The dialog box to configure the analysis will be displayed.

To open the .NET programming environment, follow these steps: 1. Click on the Open menu and act on any of the following commands, depending on what you want to program: Indicator, Strategy or Study. 2. In the start window, inside the User folder, select the option «Create a new Indicator / system / study (.NET)». 3. In the dialog box indicate the name of the plugin. 4. Select the desired programming option (C #) or VB .NET. 5. Starts programming in the corresponding environment.

To open the programming environment in POS, follow these steps: 1. Click on the Open menu and act on any of the following commands, depending on what you want to program: Indicator, Strategy or Study. 2. In the start window, within the User folder, select the option «Create a new Indicator / system / study (PDV)». 3. In the dialog box indicate the name of the plugin. 4. Starts programming in the POS environment.

Only user strategies can be optimized and this process is done in Team Trading. You can start optimization in 2 ways: 1. Once the strategy has been inserted on the chart, click on the "Optimize" command from the "Chart" menu. 2. From Team Trading, click on the «Strategy» menu and click on «Optimizations». Then choose the type of optimization: New intraday optimization or New end-of-day optimization. 3. Select the system you want to optimize. Then you just have to follow the steps of the wizard to configure the optimization in one or more symbols and in the desired compression unit.

When the system optimization is being configured, after step 2, where you select the lower and upper value for each parameter of the strategy, click on the «Next» button and then search for a specific symbol by clicking the «New ». A search engine will be displayed to type the code or name of the asset, and you can also set compression, history to optimize, trading hours and set commissions.

To program an explorer you must go to the "File" menu, click on the "New" drop-down and click on the "New Explorer" option. The first step of the wizard for the design of this tool will be displayed.

Operation and connection

Connecting to markets, broker operations from Visual Chart 6, using the simulator and verifying the status of connections.

The Direct Access module is the service that allows operations through Visual Chart 6, in real or simulated mode. To connect to the market simulator it is necessary to follow these steps: 1. Click on the command «Connection to broker» in the quick access bar. The icon is shaped like a key. 2. In the connection box, click on the drop-down menu and select «Broker Demo». 3. Click on connect. All users who have real time in any of the markets have an account associated with the market simulator with an initial balance of € 100,000

The command «Connection to broker» in the form of a key, located in the quick access bar, must be green.

First of all, you have to make sure that your broker allows operations through Visual Chart 6. You can check which brokers are available through the platform in the following way: 1. Click on the command «Connection to broker» in the quick access bar. 2. In the connection box, click on the drop-down and consult the list of agencies. 3. If you have an account with any of the available brokers, it is necessary that you previously contract the Direct Access system with it. Once the Direct Access service is activated, when you want to operate with your account, you must follow the two previous steps, selecting the broker in the second step and validating the access codes to your account.

The command «Connection to broker» in the form of a key, located in the quick access bar, must be yellow.

1. Access the Open menu and click on the command «New graph». 2. In the start window, look for the symbol whose information you want to see in the viewer. 3. Click on the symbol by pressing the right mouse button. 4. Click on "Open offer / demand" in the contextual menu.

Storage

Information about which items are stored in the cloud and which are stored locally, for efficient management of your resources.

All documents are saved in the cloud: workspaces, trading systems, indicators, studies, explorers, stock lists, graph templates, statistics templates, technical analysis etc. The configurations of these elements by the user are also saved in the cloud.

The elements that are saved on the user's computer are: - Historical files of the different assets (.fd, .min and .tck) in C: \ Users \ .. \ Documents \ VisualChart 6 \ Realserver - The predefined orders in% appdata% \ VisualChart \ 6 \ Data \ Trading \ Presets

Share and collaborate

Options for sharing workspaces and strategies with other users, contact management, and access permission control.

To share a workspace, system indicator or study, in the first place, it is necessary that the person / s with whom the item is to be shared is a member of the Market Monitor community. The sharing process is as follows: 1. Click on the Open command (cloud icon). 2. Select Workspace, Strategies, Indicators, or Studies from the navigation panel at the bottom of the home window. 3. Right-click on the item you want to share and, in the context menu, click on the "Share" option. 4. Finally, in the dialog box, find and mark the corresponding user (s) and finish by clicking on «Share».

The process to stop sharing is as follows: 1. Click on the Open command (cloud). 2. Select Workspace, Strategies, Indicators, or Studies from the navigation panel at the bottom of the home window. 3. Right-click on the item you want to stop sharing and, in the context menu, select the "Share" option. 4. Finally, in the dialog box, find and uncheck the corresponding user (s) and finish by clicking on «Share».

The users with whom information is shared are those we have on our friends list in our Market Monitor profile. To add a contact you must follow these steps. 1. Click on the Market Monitor tab of Visual Chart. 2. Click on the Profile menu. 3. Click on the search for friends option. In this case, it is allowed to do a search within the community, you can even invite friends from social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, etc. Once you have added these friends to your contact list, you can share the corresponding documents with them.

Team Trading

Conditions for marketing strategies in Team Trading: profit margins, management of published systems and code modifications.

The developer of a system charges € 1 for each contract that their systems execute.

The minimum sale period is six calendar months. For example, if you put a strategy up for sale in Team Trading on January 10, 2021, you won't be able to cancel the sale until July 31, 2021. If you don't cancel the sale, it will last six months.
